Neighborhood Trees

MSRNA is pleased to have its 3rd neighborhood tree planting project in April 2016. Through our grass-roots efforts, over the past 5 years in our neighborhood we have planted over 70 trees to replace elm, ash, and box elder trees lost to disease and drought. Our goals are to increase the number of neighborhood trees and to diversify the trees that shade our streets, yards, and homes with species suited to our climate. MSRNA members who have contributed to MSRNA’s Sustainable Tree Fund help make this happen.

With a generous grant from the Palmer Tree Coalition and additional funding from City Forestry, we purchased 25 hardy trees this year from Trees Across Colorado. Using a first-come, first-served basis, as of March 16th we are all SOLD OUT. The trees will arrive mid-April for planting. Watch for a bunch of newly planted trees in our neighborhood including 5 new trees in Shooks Run parks planted by Columbia Elementary School students on Arbor Day!
